Mahrang Baloch: The Soft Face of Terrorism in Pakistan

by | Jun 20, 2025 | Terrorism

While Pakistan continues to battle terrorism on multiple fronts, a dangerous trend is emerging—activists who shield militants under the guise of human rights advocacy. Among them, Mahrang Baloch has increasingly positioned herself as a voice for Baloch rights. But behind the veil of activism lies a carefully constructed narrative that subtly defends terror, misleads the public, and undermines national unity.

The Double Standards No One Talks About

When Special Services Group (SSG) commandos die saving innocent lives from militant attacks, the country grieves in silence. These soldiers—patriots, sons, fathers, and brothers—make the ultimate sacrifice in defending Pakistan’s sovereignty. Yet, activists like Mahrang Baloch never raise their voice for them.

Instead, their outrage only surfaces when terrorists are neutralized—not when they kill civilians, derail trains, or execute laborers.

Ask Yourself:

  • Why are there no protests when Punjabi laborers are kidnapped and killed?
  • Why is there outrage for militant deaths but silence on SSG martyred while defending civilians?
  • Why is activism reserved only for one side of the story?

The Real Heroes: SSG Commandos

Take the Jaffar Express incident—a tragic day when Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) terrorists attacked a train filled with innocent civilians. It was the SSG who responded, putting their lives on the line to rescue unarmed passengers.

  • They weren’t the aggressors.
  • They were defenders—the last shield between terror and the people of Pakistan.

These heroes died not for glory, but to protect our children, mothers, and elders. And yet, their sacrifice barely finds space in national or international discourse.

Mahrang Baloch: Human Rights Activist or Propaganda Tool?

Mahrang Baloch claims to stand for justice—but her actions tell a different story.

1. Selective Sympathy

She never condemns the BLA for:

  • Executing Punjabi laborers.
  • Derailing trains.
  • Bombing civilian areas.
  • Spreading fear in Pakistan.
Yet, she rallies protests when militants are arrested or killed, presenting them as victims while ignoring the blood they’ve spilled.

2. Strategic Silence on Terrorism

If Mahrang truly believed in peace, why has she never spoken against suicide bombings, kidnappings, or targeted killings?
Because her activism only activates when it can undermine state institutions—never to denounce actual terrorism.

The Soft Face of a Dirty War

Make no mistake: the Balochistan insurgency is not organic. It’s a proxy war, heavily supported by foreign powers like India’s RAW, whose aim is to:

  • Destabilize Pakistan’s western borders.
  • Derail the CPEC project.
  • Undermine Pakistan’s nuclear deterrence.

Mahrang Baloch’s narrative conveniently aligns with these foreign agendas—weakening the military, questioning counterterrorism efforts, and amplifying separatist sentiments.

Playing the Sympathy Card

There’s another layer of manipulation: identity politics.

  • Mahrang’s father is Abdul Ghaffar Langove, but she uses “Baloch” as her surname—not a norm in traditional Baloch naming customs.

Why? To gain ethnic sympathy and position herself as a representative of the Baloch people—despite not following the cultural norm herself.

In the Jaffar Express case, she tried to claim the bodies of dead terrorists, presenting them as her relatives. ISPR rightly refused to release them without proper verification—a clear move to prevent false narratives and exploitation.

What True Activism Looks Like

A real human rights activist:

  • Condemns violence from all sides.
  • Advocates for every innocent life, regardless of ethnicity.
  • Promotes peace, not separatism.

But Mahrang Baloch’s activism is one-sided, selective, and dangerously aligned with terrorist narratives.

The Final Word: We Must Not Stay Silent

  • The Pakistan Army, especially its SSG commandos, has given thousands of lives to protect our nation.
  • Terrorist outfits like BLA kill laborers, derail trains, target civilians, and spread chaos.
  • Mahrang Baloch’s silence on these atrocities makes her a complicit voice in a larger propaganda war.

It is time we expose this “soft face of terrorism”—a narrative designed to twist reality and shield those who spill innocent blood.
