He pointed out that the column referenced by journalist Sohail Warraich was based on an event in Brussels, where hundreds of individuals had gathered and taken photographs. “There was no discussion of PTI, nor any apology made by the Army Chief,” DG ISPR emphasized. He described the act as an attempt by a journalist to seek “personal publicity” and undue benefit, terming such behavior irresponsible and inappropriate, especially from senior media professionals.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif underlined that anyone indulging in illegal or misleading actions will have to face the law. He reiterated that the Pakistan Army is a disciplined, responsible institution and will continue to uphold its constitutional role. Expressing regret over the spread of baseless narratives, he warned against attempts to exploit national issues for personal agendas.
In a broader reflection on Pakistan’s strength, the DG ISPR highlighted that the nation is a nuclear power with an annual defense budget of only Rs80 billion, underscoring its ability to safeguard sovereignty despite limited resources. He noted that countries like Iran, despite far greater defense spending, had not achieved nuclear capability, reinforcing Pakistan’s resilience and strategic strength.
He urged the youth of Pakistan to embrace the country’s ideological foundations and recognize their collective strength. “The day our young generation realizes its true potential, no extremist force or proxy will be able to intimidate them,” he asserted. Referring to the conquest of Makkah, DG ISPR quoted the Last Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH): “Truth has come, and falsehood has perished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to perish.” He stressed that the struggles of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) serve as a guiding light in Pakistan’s journey of endurance and resilience.
Rejecting propaganda portraying Pakistan as a “failed state,” he criticized the narrative that glorifies India as a “shining state” or “Vishwaguru,” pointing out that such campaigns are aimed at sowing despair among Pakistani youth. He reaffirmed that Pakistan remains capable of shaping the destiny of the entire region despite repeated attempts to undermine its confidence.
Concluding, DG ISPR reiterated that the Pakistan Army stands firm with the people and the state, committed to truth, law, and the defense of national honor.
