Rawalpindi — The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) has initiated a large-scale flood relief operation in Gilgit-Baltistan, extending vital humanitarian support to families severely affected by recent flooding. Braving difficult weather conditions and the region’s rugged mountainous terrain, the PAF has mobilized its air and ground assets to deliver timely aid and evacuate stranded civilians.
As part of the operation, a C-130 aircraft of the PAF successfully airlifted seven tons of dry rations, daily use eatables, and life-saving medicines from PAF Base Nur Khan to Gilgit. The essential consignment, transported under challenging conditions, will be distributed to remote valleys cut off by damaged communication lines, in close coordination with the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
