The FC personnel were conducting an operation in the mountainous terrain when their convoy was ambushed by militants who had taken up concealed positions and opened fire. A fierce gun battle ensued, resulting in the tragic casualties. One FC soldier has also been reported missing following the intense exchange of fire. The wounded were immediately shifted to Lal Qila Hospital and later referred to District Headquarters Hospital Timergara for advanced medical care.

Following the assault, a heavy contingent of police, Elite Force, and Dir Scouts was dispatched to the area to reinforce the operation. Security forces have claimed to have inflicted significant losses on the militants and are continuing to clear the area of any remaining threats.

In separate statements, both President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to the martyred soldiers and lauded the bravery and professionalism of the security forces. President Zardari reaffirmed the nation’s unwavering resolve to completely eradicate terrorism, while Prime Minister Sharif reiterated that the war against this scourge would continue until its complete elimination.

The resolve of Pakistan’s security forces remains unbroken as they continue to defend the nation against internal and external threats.
