The injured were promptly shifted to nearby medical facilities, where they are under treatment. Hospital sources reported that most of the wounded are out of danger, though some remain under close observation.
Security forces have since cordoned off the entire area and launched a comprehensive search operation to track down and neutralize the fleeing militants. The situation on the ground remains tense, with reinforcements deployed to ensure the safety of local communities.
This latest confrontation highlights the persistent threat of militant activity in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s tribal belt. While Pakistan’s military operations have dismantled major militant networks over the past decade, remnants continue to stage sporadic attacks.
Officials stressed that the Pakistan Army remains fully committed to eradicating terrorism from the region. “Such cowardly attacks will not deter our resolve. The sacrifices of our soldiers and the resilience of the people of South Waziristan are the foundation of lasting peace,” said a senior security officer.
In Bajaur, officials also reported increased security measures following intelligence of possible militant movements across adjoining areas. Local administrations have urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies during ongoing operations.
The clashes serve as a stark reminder of the challenges posed by extremist elements in border regions, even as Pakistan continues to pursue long-term stability through military operations, community engagement, and development initiatives.
The Pakistan Army reaffirmed its unwavering resolve to safeguard every inch of the motherland and ensure that the sacrifices of its personnel contribute to securing a peaceful and stable future for the nation.
