Turbat – Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), visited Turbat, Balochistan, to review the prevailing security situation, assess ongoing development initiatives, and reinforce coordination between military and civil institutions to ensure lasting stability and prosperity in the province.
Upon his arrival, the COAS was received by the Corps Commander Balochistan. He was later joined by Chief Minister Balochistan Sarfraz Bugti, the Chief Secretary, and senior officials from the provincial administration for a detailed review of the situation in the southern region.
Security and Development Briefing
During his visit, the Army Chief was given a comprehensive briefing on:
- The security dynamics of southern Balochistan, including threat perspectives and ongoing counter-terrorism operations against Fitna al Hindustan;
- Successful intelligence-based operations that have significantly reduced terrorist networks and enhanced peace in the region;
- The status of ongoing development projects designed to uplift infrastructure, education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities;
- Efforts to improve socio-economic conditions in the underserved districts of southern Balochistan.
