Stakeholders from Pakistan and China gathered at hybrid forum in Guangzhou to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic ties and to strengthen economic cooperation. The event was hosted by Guangzhou International Cooperation Center and Consulate General of Pakistan in Guangzhou. It featured policy discussions, business-to-business meetings, and trade showcases.

Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain stressed the need to build sustainable agricultural supply chains, and directed attention of the house towards the Pakistani mango exports. The statistics pertaining to trade reflected Pakistan’s robust growth; it highlighted increased exports from Pakistan to China rising to 50.3% to $1.87 billion in the first half of 2026. The shipments to Guangdong province alone reached $227.73 million, driven primarily by copper anodes and broken rice.
The forum culminated with the signing of 5 Memorandums of Understanding centered on electric vehicle joint ventures, battery manufacturing, building materials, pine nut procurement, and medical tourism. The increased bilateral trade, exports, and collaborative ventures underscore the commercial engagement under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor framework.
