The Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has officially postponed several recruitment interviews originally scheduled at its Islamabad headquarters for April 9, 2026. This decision follows the federal government’s declaration of public holidays in the capital to accommodate the high-profile visit of United States and Iranian delegations for peace negotiations. According to the commission, the postponed sessions include interviews for the positions of Charge Nurse at Federal General Hospital and Assistant Professor under the Ministry of Education and Professional Training. While the commission stated that rescheduled dates will be announced later, it clarified that interviews for Medical Officer positions for the Gilgit-Baltistan government will proceed as planned via Zoom.

The postponement is part of a broader city-wide shutdown as authorities implement rigorous security protocols for the upcoming “Islamabad Channel” talks. The impact of these holidays has extended beyond administrative offices to include the closure of NADRA centers, educational institutions, and public hiking trails, alongside significant restrictions on heavy vehicle movement. This administrative pause highlights the scale of the arrangements being made as the capital becomes a central hub for international diplomacy. Candidates and citizens have been advised to remain updated on further rescheduling as the city manages the logistical challenges of hosting vice-presidential level delegations and international media during this critical diplomatic window.
