A large cache of ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were captured and destroyed.

In a separate operation, law enforcement agencies in Bhag city thwarted a coordinated assault on a police station, national bank, and assistant commissioner’s office, led by 40 armed terrorists. The attackers were engaged in a 2-hour long firefight, heavy loses were inflicted on the assailants and they were eventually forced to retreat. Accordingly, 2 police officers and 3 citizens were injured in the cross-fire. However, the attackers failed to capture the facility or loot the bank.

These terror attacks and counter-terror operations depict sharp increase in regional violence, including recent militant assaults in Pishin and Chagai, reflecting a 7% rise in terrorist attacks across Balochistan through August. Country’s top leadership President and Prime Minister praised the armed forces, reaffirming that operations under Vision Azm-i-Istehkam will continue until foreign-backed terrorism is eliminated.
