Pakistan’s Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in collaboration with Sri Lankan and US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) dismantled an international drug trafficking network. In this operation the authorities sized a total of 671 kilograms Methamphetamine commonly known as ICE—originating from Afghan drug-trade and smuggling operations.

The crackdown started from Karachi where ANF conducted an intelligence-based operation at Karachi Port. ANF recovered 200 kilograms of Methamphetamine concealed in a cargo container. The alleged mastermind, Ehsanullah, an Afghan national, along with local his facilitators was arrested.
After the arrest ANF shared the actionable intelligence with Sri Lankan authorities and also with US DEA. The leads helped the international law enforcement agencies to conduct another joint operation at the Colombo Port where 471 kilograms of Crystal Meth was seized. The crystal meth meant for the global markets was concealed inside bath towels.
ANF stated that Pakistan is a victim-state of the narcotics trade, origination from Afghanistan, and also in the transit route. Therefore, international cooperation remains critical to disrupt global drug syndicates.
