Pakistan Navy Successfully Conducts Test Flight of Indigenous Ship-Launched Anti-Ship Ballistic Missile

The Pakistan Navy has successfully carried out a test flight of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship ballistic missile, reaffirming Pakistan’s advancing maritime defence capabilities, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the advanced weapon system is capable of engaging both sea and land targets with high precision. The missile is equipped with state-of-the-art guidance technology and enhanced manoeuvrability, enabling superior performance in complex operational environments.

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with senior scientists and engineers, witnessed the test flight. The successful trial underscores Pakistan’s growing technological competence and the Navy’s commitment to ensuring credible deterrence and safeguarding national maritime interests.

The President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, outgoing Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, and the Services Chiefs congratulated the participating naval units, scientists and engineers on achieving this significant milestone.

ISPR highlighted that the successful test reflects the effectiveness of Pakistan’s indigenous defence development programme and the seamless synergy between the armed forces and scientific community.

Earlier, on September 30, the Pakistan Army successfully conducted a training launch of the newly inducted, indigenously developed Fatah-4 ground-launched cruise missile with a range of 750 kilometres. The system, equipped with advanced avionics and state-of-the-art navigational aids, demonstrated the capability to evade enemy missile defence systems through terrain-hugging features while engaging targets with high accuracy.

The successful tests reaffirm Pakistan’s resolve to maintain robust defensive preparedness and strengthen its strategic deterrence capabilities in line with national security requirements.
