The Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Afghanistan’s Deputy Head of Mission on Friday to lodge a strong protest following a terrorist attack on a military camp in North Waziristan. Pakistan has demanded “decisive action” against the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its affiliates operating from Afghan soil.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attack targeted a military camp in the North Waziristan district near the Afghan border. Militants attempted to breach the perimeter and subsequently rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into the outer wall.
- Casualties: Four Pakistani soldiers were martyred in the exchange.
- Civilian Impact: The blast caused the collapse of a wall and damaged a nearby mosque. Fifteen local residents, including women and children, sustained injuries.
- Outcome: All four attackers were engaged and killed by security forces.
In a statement released today, the Foreign Office condemned the attack in the strongest terms, attributing it to “Khwarij” belonging to the Kharji Gul Bahadur Group. During the summons, Pakistani officials expressed grave concern over the “continued support and facilitation” provided to the TTP by the Afghan authorities.
“The Afghan Taliban regime has been urged to take immediate, concrete, and verifiable measures against all terror groups operating from its territory,” the Foreign Office stated. Pakistan further demanded a full investigation into the perpetrators and the denial of Afghan soil for terrorism against neighboring states.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explicitly informed the Afghan diplomat that Pakistan reserves the right to defend its sovereignty and will take all necessary measures to protect its citizens from cross-border attacks.
The statement highlighted that the “permissive environment” currently enjoyed by militants in Afghanistan is a violation of Kabul’s international commitments. This diplomatic escalation follows a period of deteriorating relations and failed negotiations in Istanbul regarding border security and militancy.
