President Donald Trump escalated his pressure campaign against Havana, vowing to completely block the flow of Venezuelan oil and funding to the island. Writing on Truth Social, Trump declared, “THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA, ZERO!” He strongly urged the Communist government to “make a deal” before it is too late, signaling that the U.S. now intends to leverage its control over Venezuela’s oil sector to force political concessions from the Caribbean nation.

The threat follows the U.S. military operation that ousted Nicolás Maduro, a close ally of Havana. Meanwhile, Venezuela’s interim president, Delcy Rodríguez, who has received Trump’s backing, has praised the Cuban personnel killed in the raid as “heroes,” even as her administration moves to open the country’s oil fields to American companies.
