Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has become the first Pakistani batsman, and the eighth overall, to score 3,000 runs in the ICC World Test Championship. He reached the milestone during the first Test against South Africa, achieving it in his 37th WTC appearance.
Babar’s record includes 8 centuries and 18 half-centuries, highlighting his remarkable consistency in Test cricket.
Other players in the 3,000-run club include Joe Root (6,080), Ben Stokes (3,616), Zak Crawley (3,041), Steve Smith (4,278), Marnus Labuschagne (4,225), Travis Head (3,300), and Usman Khawaja (3,288), with Root leading the charts.
Babar’s achievement has been widely celebrated in Pakistan, further cementing his reputation as one of the world’s elite Test batsmen.
