Acting on credible intelligence, customs officials inspected two consignments imported from China. The operation led to the recovery of:
- 59,000 units of Nokia 105 mobile phones with batteries
- 5,200 pieces of medicine (318 kg)
- 3,000 Sildenafil Citrate tablets
- Assorted weapon parts
In a separate operation at the baggage section, authorities intercepted 80 bottles (20 litres) of liquor and 40 kg of pork meat being illegally brought through the Khunjerab Pass.
The estimated duty and taxes on the seized items amounted to Rs78.5 million. All confiscated goods have been taken into custody under the Customs Act, 1969, with legal proceedings now underway.
The FBR highlighted that these successful operations demonstrate Pakistan Customs’ commitment to curbing smuggling, protecting national revenue, and preventing prohibited goods from entering the country.
