In a compelling address at the ISPR internship session, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry underscored the precision and civilian-first methodology guiding the military’s counterterrorism efforts in Balochistan.
Lt Gen Chaudhry emphasized that the Pakistan Army is not interested in harming innocent civilians, making clear that those who provide shelter to terrorists or store explosives must face consequences—but whole communities should never be penalized for the actions of a few. “A single act of terrorism cannot mean punishment for an entire village,” he asserted, iterating that operations are conducted with surgical precision based on solid intelligence.
He stressed that successful operations depend on local cooperation, pointing out the growing role of Baloch citizens in identifying militants and their facilitators. “Operations only succeed when the public identifies terrorists themselves,” Lt Gen Chaudhry stated, emphasizing that community engagement is vital for long-term peace and stability.
The DG ISPR also paid tribute to Major Muhammad Anwar Kakar, describing him as an exceptional officer and a “proud son of the land,” while commending the sacrifices made daily by soldiers and civilians alike.

Rejecting the notion that Balochistan’s people are disconnected from Pakistan, he affirmed their deep-seated patriotism and sense of belonging. He highlighted achievements of Cambridge-trained scientist Dr. Samad Yar Jang, young leader Shahzaib Rind, and women serving as deputy commissioners—symbols of the province’s emerging talent and progress.
Asserting the foundational importance of shared faith in national identity, Lt Gen Chaudhry said Pakistan was built on the Kalima—rather than ethnicity—and that “Pakistan lives in your hearts,” reinforcing unity beyond linguistic or regional lines.
In closing, he called upon citizens, local leadership, and security forces to maintain close collaboration. “The people of Balochistan have risen against terrorism, and their cooperation remains our greatest strength,” he said, reaffirming that peace and progress are collective achievements.
