The Spokesperson stated that a recent United Nations Security Council (UNSC) report has definitively supported Pakistan’s long-standing position regarding the presence of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan. The report confirms that groups like the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Al-Qaeda, and Daesh-K continue to operate from Afghan territory.
“The continued existence of these militant groups is the single biggest obstacle to stable relations between Islamabad and Kabul,” said Mr. Andrabi. He noted that the UNSC report explicitly rejected the Afghan Taliban’s claims that their territory is not used for cross-border attacks, labeling such assertions as “unsubstantiated.”
Addressing the breakdown of the recent security arrangement, the Spokesperson clarified that the ceasefire was a good-faith effort by Pakistan to prevent cross-border terrorism. However, due to continued attacks originating from Afghan soil, the arrangement has effectively failed to hold.
Pakistan strongly condemned the horrific attack at a religious gathering in Bondi Beach, Australia, extending condolences to the victims’ families.

The Spokesperson categorically rejected “irresponsible” attempts by certain media segments to link the attack to Pakistan. He revealed that Indian media outlets had circulated a fake Pakistani name and photograph, endangering an innocent individual. “Subsequent investigations have confirmed that the attacker was of Indian origin and held an Indian passport,” Mr. Andrabi stated, urging Indian media to abandon propaganda and adopt professional standards.
The Ministry expressed deep concern over a “deeply disturbing” incident involving the Chief Minister of Bihar, where a Muslim woman’s hijab was forcibly removed, followed by public ridicule.
“This conduct demonstrates a public disrespect for India’s religious minorities and reflects a troubling pattern of Hindutva-inspired politics,” the Spokesperson remarked. He urged the international community and the Indian government to reaffirm their commitment to religious freedom and the preservation of human dignity, warning against the normalization of humiliating Muslim women in India.
