Rockstar Games has announced another delay for Grand Theft Auto 6, pushing its release to November 19, 2026, six months later than its previously scheduled May launch.
In a statement, Rockstar said the additional time is needed to deliver the level of “polish and quality” fans expect, apologizing for the extended wait. The studio added that it remains “incredibly excited” for players to explore Leonida, a fictional state inspired by Florida, and a modern take on Vice City.

Originally slated for release in 2025, GTA 6 is among the most anticipated games in history, following the massive success of GTA 5, which remains popular 12 years after launch.
The delay announcement comes amid controversy, as 31 UK-based Rockstar employees were recently laid off, sparking protests led by the Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB).
Despite fan frustration, many gamers say they prefer a delayed but polished experience over a rushed release.
