The day marked the 7th anniversary of Operation Swift Retort, the 2019 air engagement with India. In a statement released by the ISPR, the military leadership paid tribute to the professionalism and sacrifices of the personnel who restored strategic balance and deterred foreign aggression during that crisis.

The anniversary coincides with high-intensity military action on Pakistan’s western front. Following unprovoked aggression by Afghan Taliban forces along the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa border on the night of February 26, Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar and the DG ISPR confirmed that retaliatory strikes targeted military installations in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar. The operation has resulted in 274 militants killed and 12 Pakistani soldiers martyred, as the military continues to strike defensive targets linked to the Taliban regime.
