In his message, President Asif Ali Zardari highlighted the government’s multi-pronged approach to women’s rights:

• Hosting the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference: Pakistan is set to host the 9th Ministerial Conference on Women of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) this year, highlighting its role as a leader in the Islamic world for gender-sensitive policy.

• Global Standards: As a state party to CEDAW, Pakistan continues to pursue legislative and institutional reforms to foster female leadership in the judiciary, civil service, and armed forces.

• Humanitarian Solidarity: The Deputy PM expressed profound solidarity with women in conflict zones, specifically:

  • Kashmir: Advocating for the rights of sisters enduring human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).

  • Palestine: Standing with the mothers and daughters of Palestine facing relentless aggression and deprivation.
