PM Sharif Concerned After Missile Debris Injures Pakistanis in UAE

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed deep concern over an incident at Khor Fakkan port in the UAE, where falling debris from a missile interception injured three Pakistani nationals.

In a post on X on Monday, the PM said he was “deeply concerned” by the incident and prayed for the swift recovery of those injured, including the Pakistani citizens. He added that Pakistan is in close contact with UAE authorities and will extend all possible support to its nationals in the country.

The incident happened on Sunday when air defence systems in the UAE intercepted a missile, causing debris to fall at Khor Fakkan port and sparking a fire. According to Sharjah Media Office, three Pakistanis sustained minor to moderate injuries, while one Nepalese national was seriously hurt and shifted to hospital.

This is not the first such case — four Pakistani nationals have already lost their lives in the UAE due to falling debris from missile interceptions amid the ongoing US-Israel war on Iran and Iran’s retaliatory attacks on Gulf countries.

PM Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with the “brotherly people of the UAE” and called for urgent restraint and de-escalation in the region to prevent further harm to civilians.
