Bilawal Bhutto Holds Key Consultations with PM Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir at Davos

On the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and former Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, held a high-level consultative meeting with the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, and the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.

The meeting, held amidst the global gathering of economic and political leaders in Davos, focused on Pakistan’s strategic interests, national security, and the country’s evolving role in the international geopolitical arena. The interaction underscores a unified front between Pakistan’s top political and military leadership in navigating complex global challenges.

Following these high-level engagements, Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari spoke to Pakistan TV Digital, where he provided a robust assessment of the current international landscape and Pakistan’s diplomatic trajectory.

Statements on Global Standing and Regional Diplomacy

The former Foreign Minister asserted that Pakistan’s global standing has been significantly bolstered by a “responsible and principled” approach to diplomacy. He noted that Pakistan is increasingly gaining positive attention in key geopolitical circles due to its consistent adherence to international norms and its proactive engagement on the world stage.

“Pakistan’s responsible and principled diplomacy during recent global developments has strengthened its standing on the world stage,” Zardari stated, highlighting that the country’s voice is now carrying greater weight in international forums.

Assessment of Regional Dynamics

Contrasting Pakistan’s rising profile with regional developments, the PPP Chairman remarked on the shifting global perception of India. He observed that India’s global image has faced a noticeable contraction in recent months, suggesting that New Delhi’s international standing is shrinking as a result of its recent policy choices and actions.
