Pakistan has called for a fresh round of political dialogue and complete implementation of the peace agreement to bring lasting stability to South Sudan. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmed, appealed to the United Nations while addressing a United Nations Security Council meeting on the situation in South Sudan.
Ambassador Ahmad emphasized that political unity and sincere efforts by all parties are vital for peace and progress in the country. He noted that the United Nations Security Council and the global community have a key responsibility to help maintain political commitment and ensure that peace efforts move forward effectively.

The Pakistani envoy also underlined the importance of providing adequate resources and ongoing international assistance to support peacekeeping operations and address growing humanitarian challenges in South Sudan. He said that the people of South Sudan deserve peace, stability, and development after years of conflict and hardship.

Pakistan reaffirmed its continued support for the UN’s peacekeeping missions and stressed the need for collective global action to help South Sudan achieve lasting peace and prosperity. The statement reflected Pakistan’s broader commitment to international peace, security, and cooperation.
