The judge also pointed to smoke-emitting vehicles as a key factor in the high Air Quality Index (AQI), specifically noting that vehicles traveling from Karachi along the GT Road were increasing the AQI. Justice Karim subsequently ordered that environmental squads must be visibly present on city roads for the next two weeks to curb polluting vehicles.

The judge concluded by emphasizing that only stern and decisive actions by departments with existing extensive powers, such as the environment department, could bring about meaningful environmental improvement.
