The two nations issued a direct call to the interim Afghan government, demanding “visible and verifiable” actions to dismantle terrorist organizations operating from Afghan soil. Key security highlights include:
- Zero Tolerance: A commitment to eliminate all terrorist groups threatening regional stability, ensuring Afghan territory is not used against any neighbor.
- Protection of Interests: China commended Pakistan’s efforts to protect Chinese personnel and projects, recognizing the “huge sacrifices” made by Islamabad in the global fight against terrorism.
- Opposition to Double Standards: Both sides expressed firm opposition to the use of “double standards” in international counter-terrorism efforts.
Economic Evolution: CPEC 2.0 and “URAAN Pakistan”
A central pillar of the dialogue was the formal agreement to launch “CPEC 2.0″—an upgraded version of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.
- Key Sectors: The next phase will prioritize Industry, Agriculture, and Mining.
- Infrastructure: Efforts will be intensified for the full operation of Gwadar Port and the year-round opening of the Khunjerab Pass.

Marking the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the communique touched upon several landmark milestones:
- Space Frontier: Both sides expressed satisfaction over the progress of the Pakistan-China space cooperation, confirming that Pakistani astronauts are expected to enter the China Space Station shortly.
- Regional Disputes: China reiterated its stance on the Kashmir dispute, calling for a peaceful resolution in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
- Geopolitics: Pakistan reaffirmed its “One-China” policy regarding Taiwan, Xinjiang, and Hong Kong, while China reiterated its support for Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Global Governance and Middle East
The communique voiced a shared commitment to multilateralism, calling for an unconditional ceasefire in Gaza and the implementation of a two-state solution for Palestine. Furthermore, China declared its full support for Pakistan’s upcoming tenure as the rotating president of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) from 2026 to 2027.
The next round of the Strategic Dialogue is scheduled to take place in Islamabad in 2027.
