In a testament to their unwavering commitment and relentless professionalism, Pakistan’s security forces have successfully conducted three separate intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. These decisive actions, which took place from September 9-10, resulted in the neutralization of 19 terrorists, effectively thwarting their nefarious designs and eliminating a significant threat to peace and stability in the region.
The operations targeted individuals belonging to the Indian-sponsored group, Fitna al Khwarij, a term used by the state to refer to terrorists from the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This decisive action underscores the security forces’ resolve to eliminate all forms of terrorism and protect the lives of Pakistani citizens.
The first intelligence-based operation was conducted in the general area of Guluno, Mohmand District, following the reported presence of Khwarij. The security forces, acting on precise intelligence, effectively engaged the terrorists’ location. After an intense and prolonged fire exchange, fourteen Indian-sponsored Khwarij were neutralized.
A second, equally successful intelligence-based operation was conducted in the general Datta Khel area of the North Waziristan district. During the ensuing fire exchange, four more Khwarij were neutralized by the security forces, showcasing the operational effectiveness of the troops in hostile environments. In a third encounter that took place in the Bannu district, one more Khwarij was neutralized, bringing the total number of terrorists killed to 19.
Following these successful engagements, security forces recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition from the neutralized terrorists, who were confirmed to have been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities in these areas. Sanitization operations are currently being conducted to eliminate any remaining threats, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indian-sponsored terrorism from the country.
Leadership Commends Security Forces’ Bravery
The successful conclusion of these counter-terrorism operations has been widely commended by the nation’s top leadership. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif both issued statements praising the bravery and professionalism of the armed forces.
In his statement, President Zardari said;
“The courage and professionalism of Pakistan’s brave soldiers continue to protect the nation from the scourge of terrorism. These operations demonstrate Pakistan’s unshakeable resolve to confront and defeat Indian-sponsored terrorism.”
Echoing the President’s sentiments, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated;
“The war against terrorism will continue until this scourge is completely eradicated from the country. Officers and personnel of the Pakistan Army are tirelessly engaged day and night to foil the nefarious designs of the Khawarij and the Fitna of Hindustan.”
