The agreement aims to promote judicial exchange, capacity building, professional training, and the sharing of best practices in adjudication and court administration. It also focuses on modernising judicial processes through digitalisation, e-courts, and technology adoption to improve efficiency and access to justice.
Both sides emphasised the importance of sustained dialogue and institutional collaboration. Chief Justice Yahya Afridi highlighted that such partnerships play a vital role in enhancing transparency and effectiveness in the justice system. President Kadir Özkaya expressed appreciation for Pakistan’s warm hospitality and stressed the value of long-term judicial cooperation.
The MoU also includes provisions for joint research, exchange of legal knowledge, and the establishment of a Joint Working Group to implement the agreed initiatives. Special focus will be given to the professional development of judges, especially at the district level.
As a symbolic gesture of friendship, the Turkish delegation planted a sapling in the premises of the Supreme Court.
The visiting delegation, which includes several Turkish judges and senior officials, is in Pakistan as state guests.
