PCAA Authorizes Direct Air Link Between Dhaka and Karachi

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA), following formal clearance from the Federal Government of Pakistan, has officially granted operating permissions to the national flag carrier of Bangladesh to resume direct flight services between Dhaka and Karachi.

This landmark decision marks the restoration of a direct air bridge between the two nations, which is expected to significantly enhance bilateral trade, tourism, and diplomatic relations.

Key Regulatory Details

  • Operational Period: The initial approval for flight operations is valid through March 30, 2026.
  • Airspace Access: The airline has been granted permission to utilize Pakistan’s sovereign airspace along designated and approved routes.
  • Security & Compliance: Per PCAA regulations, the carrier must adhere strictly to assigned air corridors. Detailed flight manifests and technical data must be shared with Karachi airport authorities prior to departure from Dhaka for every scheduled service.

The Director General of the PCAA issued the authorization today, noting that the resumption of these flights will alleviate the travel burden on passengers who currently rely on time-consuming connections through third-country hubs.
