Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced on Sunday 15th March 2026, that the provincial government has successfully distributed relief cards to 2.8 million citizens, marking the completion of 95% of the target set under the Ramzan Nigahban Package. Out of the 3 million cards allocated for various districts, the vast majority have already reached beneficiaries, ensuring that financial assistance is delivered directly to the doorsteps of those in need.

A core component of this year’s initiative is the “Maryam Ke Mehman” program, which has established 422 free iftar centers across the province. These centers provide daily meals to millions of citizens during the holy month. To maintain high hygiene and quality standards, the government has deployed dedicated food safety teams to monitor both the cooking facilities and the distribution points at these centers.

Azma Bokhari emphasized that the relief cards were distributed on a strict merit basis, utilizing data to ensure transparency. She highlighted that this doorstep delivery model, championed by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, serves as a benchmark for public service. While the distribution process enters its final phase, the government remains focused on completing the remaining 5% of deliveries to ensure no eligible citizen is left behind during Ramazan.
