Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is receiving widespread international recognition for Pakistan’s crucial role in facilitating talks between the United States and Iran.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam have both expressed their deep appreciation for FM Dar’s efforts in facilitating these critical discussions.
In a call with FM Dar, Secretary-General Guterres conveyed the international community’s strong support for Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting regional and international peace and stability. He also affirmed the UN’s full support for Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic endeavors.

Ambassador Moghadam lauded the “veteran, competent and career diplomats of the MOFA of Pakistan” for their tireless work in preparing the arrangements for the delegations and talks. He specifically acknowledged FM Dar’s leadership, stating that his efforts translate political will into the practical avenues necessary for diplomatic progress.

Over the past weeks, senior officials and influential voices from more than ten countries, including Saudi Arabia, Iran, the US, China, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, and Uzbekistan, have publicly acknowledged Dar’s role in facilitating ceasefire negotiations.
Pakistan has emerged as a central facilitator in this sensitive diplomatic track, positioning itself as an “honest broker” amid sharply polarized positions between Washington and Tehran.
FM Dar has also held separate telephone calls with the foreign ministers of the United Kingdom, Canada, and Egypt, who emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for regional peace.
