Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by militants near Sadaq village in North Waziristan on Friday, March 13, 2026. According to security sources, members of the Afghan Taliban and “Fitna al-Khawarij” attempted to cross into Pakistani territory but were repelled by swift and effective resistance from the Pakistan Army. This latest skirmish is part of the broader Operation Ghazab Lil Haq (“Wrath for the Truth”), which was launched on February 27 following unprovoked cross-border fire from Afghan forces.

The military has intensified its response with overnight airstrikes on March 12 and 13, targeting high-value terrorist facilities deep within Afghanistan. Sources confirmed the destruction of the Tarawo camp in Kandahar and the Sherinaw camp in Paktia province. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar reported significant losses for the Afghan Taliban, stating that 641 operatives have been killed and over 855 injured since the operation began. Additionally, Pakistani forces have destroyed or captured nearly 300 check posts and eliminated 219 tanks, armored vehicles, and artillery pieces.

Diplomatic tensions remain high as Pakistan’s Foreign Office reiterated its demand for verifiable assurances from Kabul that Afghan soil will not be used for terrorism. With no such assurances received, Islamabad has signaled a prolonged conflict, maintaining its right to self-defense. While China has recently stepped in to attempt to defuse the situation, security sources emphasize that Operation Ghazab Lil Haq will continue until all strategic objectives are met and the border is secured against further aggression.
