The international community united in outrage Tuesday over the suicide bombing at Islamabad’s G-11 Judicial Complex that killed 12 and injured 36, with the United States, China, Russia, Qatar, Iran, Australia, the European Union, and others condemning the act and pledging unwavering support for Pakistan’s fight against terrorism.
The attack, the deadliest in the capital since 2008, targeted the District Judicial Complex on Srinagar Highway, detonating near a police vehicle and engulfing nearby cars in flames. Security forces have cordoned the site, with CCTV footage aiding the probe into suspected TTP-linked militants.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif decried the “cowardly” assault, vowing justice and attributing it to Indian-backed networks. Defence Minister Khawaja Asif called it a “wake-up call” in Pakistan’s “state of war” against terror.

- United States: The Embassy condemned the “senseless attack” and reaffirmed solidarity, pledging continued support for Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts.
- China: The Embassy expressed deepest condolences, sympathies to families, and wishes for the injured’s recovery.
- Russia: The Embassy stated: “We strongly condemn the terrorist attack at G-11 Judicial Complex in Islamabad. We hope those who organized this attack will be identified and brought to justice. We express our condolences to the families and friends of the victims and wish those injured a speedy recovery.”
- Qatar: The Foreign Ministry denounced the Islamabad and Wana attacks, reaffirming rejection of all terrorism and offering condolences to victims’ families and the Pakistani people.
- Iran: Ambassador Reza Amiri called terrorism a “regional threat,” urging united action and extending deep condolences.
- Australia: Expressed solidarity and support for community safety measures.
- European Union: Deeply saddened by the loss of lives, the EU unequivocally condemned terrorism in all forms and conveyed sympathies to affected families.
The UK updated travel advisories, while Türkiye stood firmly with Pakistan against terror. The Afghan Taliban expressed “deep sorrow and condemnation.”
