The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has reported that Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon on Saturday resulted in the tragic loss of six lives. These incidents occurred despite the recently extended ceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah.

According to a ministry statement, two Israeli strikes targeted a truck and a motorbike in Yohmor al-Shaqeef, Nabatieh district, resulting in four fatalities. A subsequent airstrike in Safad al-Battikh, Bint Jbeil district, claimed two more lives and left 17 individuals injured.
The Israeli military has stated that it eliminated three Hezbollah operatives traveling in a vehicle allegedly carrying weapons, as well as one motorcyclist and two additional armed members of the group in separate locations. The military also reported intercepting a “suspicious aerial target” and identified two projectiles launched from Lebanon, which it claims are “a blatant violation of the ceasefire understandings” by Hezbollah.
Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for targeting an Israeli army vehicle in south Lebanon, citing retaliation for the attack on Yohmor al-Shaqeef.
Israel maintains that it reserves the right to respond militarily to imminent threats, as stipulated in the terms of the ceasefire.
US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday the extension of the existing 10-day ceasefire, which began on April 17, for an additional three weeks.
Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency (NNA) has reported Israeli artillery shelling in several locations in southern Lebanon on Saturday. The NNA also reported a “violent explosion” in Khiam, a strategically important town along Lebanon’s eastern border with Israel, where the agency has previously reported the systematic destruction of homes and buildings by the Israeli army.
The situation remains tense, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
