China’s Foreign Ministry announced on Thursday that Premier Li Qiang will travel to South Africa to participate in the G20 Leaders’ Summit from November 21–23, 2025.
Xi Jinping will skip this month’s G-20 summit in South Africa, sending Premier Li Qiang instead.

Ahead of the summit, Premier Li will attend a Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting in Russia from November 17–18, followed by an official visit to Zambia on November 19–20.
The visits underscore China’s continued diplomatic engagement across multilateral platforms and its deepening political and economic outreach in Africa and Eurasia.
