This distinguished award is bestowed upon the foreign military cadet who demonstrates the highest levels of performance across all aspects of training. Cadet Abbas’s achievement underscores the exceptional professionalism, dedication, and commitment to excellence exhibited by junior leaders within the Pakistan Army.
Lieutenant General Simon Stuart, AO DSC, the Australian Chief of Army, presided over the commissioning parade. The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, including the Pakistani High Commissioner in Canberra, as well as families of the graduating cadets and officials from the Australian Defence Force.
The strong military relationship between Pakistan and Australia dates back many years. Since 2013, seven officers from the Pakistan Army have served as platoon commanders within the faculty of RMC. Furthermore, since 2009, 46 Pakistani Army cadets have successfully graduated from this esteemed institution.
This occasion marks the 14th time a Pakistani Army Cadet has been awarded the “Overall Best Foreign Military Cadet.” This honor roll includes Lieutenant Nasir Hussain Khalid Selhria Shaheed, Tamgha-e-Basalat, who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 4, 2020, in North Waziristan District. Lieutenant Nasir Shaheed’s name is permanently inscribed on the memorial stone at the RMC parade ground, serving as a lasting symbol of the bravery, sacrifice, and honor embodied by Pakistani Army Officers.
