This consistent mandate underscores the international community’s profound trust and confidence in Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the defence, promotion, and protection of human rights, both at the national level and within the global multilateral framework. The recurring recognition highlights Pakistan’s proven track record as a crucial consensus-builder dedicated to strengthening the international human rights system.
During its three-year tenure, Pakistan is committed to engaging actively with the broader UN membership and civil society to advance all facets of human rights, including civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights, alongside the right to development. Pakistan will lend its full support to upholding the HRC’s mandate, grounded in the principles of universality, objectivity, transparency, and non-selectivity.
In line with the Council’s responsibility to address human rights violations worldwide, Pakistan will continue to draw urgent attention to the grave violations perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). Furthermore, Pakistan will similarly highlight the human rights situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
The Government of Pakistan views its election as a clear testament to its consistent policy of constructive engagement and cooperation within the global human rights framework.
