Following the briefing, President Trump commented to reporters that the meeting was “reasonably good” and conveyed a clear message regarding the Kremlin’s intent: “The American partners have confirmed their readiness to take into account our considerations and our key proposals. They [the Russians] very strongly want to make a deal to end the war in Ukraine.”

A central focus of the discussion was Ukraine’s desired membership in the NATO alliance, which the Kremlin confirmed was a “key question” raised by President Putin. The U.S. delegation also acknowledged that a significant disagreement remains regarding the territorial status of regions captured and claimed by Russia.
In a move to maintain momentum, the U.S. confirmed that representatives from Kyiv will be invited to the U.S. again soon, building on the recent discussions held in Florida.
The White House underscores its commitment to exploring all diplomatic pathways to end the conflict, noting that while no immediate breakthrough was achieved, communication channels remain open, and both parties are signaling a desire for a resolution.
