Following the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab Police has been placed on high alert across flood-affected areas. Inspector General of Punjab Police Dr. Usman Anwar emphasized that all available resources are being utilized to ensure the safety of citizens and the protection of property. He confirmed that evacuation operations are underway in vulnerable districts including Lahore, Sheikhupura, and Nankana, with residents being relocated to secure relief camps equipped with food, clean drinking water, and medical supplies.
Punjab Police, in coordination with PDMA, district administrations, and rescue agencies, is actively engaged in rescue and relief efforts. Police relief teams are conducting regular patrols along riverbanks and flood-hit villages, ensuring the evacuation of families, livestock, and personal belongings.
In Kasur, DPO Muhammad Esa Khan and Deputy Commissioner Imran Ali, acting on the Chief Minister’s instructions, are personally leading relief activities along the flooded Sutlej River. They visited severely impacted villages including Chanda Singh, Bhikhi Wind, and Kamal Pura by boat, supervising the evacuation of children, elderly citizens, and women to safe locations. Livestock worth millions of rupees was also relocated to higher ground. Police personnel carried victims’ belongings on their heads, while announcements were made to guide residents through the evacuation process.
“Under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Punjab Police is working tirelessly day and night for the protection and service of flood victims,” said DPO Kasur Muhammad Esa Khan.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain vigilant, take precautionary measures, and fully cooperate with rescue teams during this extraordinary situation.
