The UAE views AI not just as a future industry but as a “cornerstone of humanity’s future,” committing to developing responsible and inclusive AI for global benefit. The initiative will be implemented by the Abu Dhabi Exports Office (ADEX) in cooperation with the UAE Foreign Aid Agency.
The announcement reinforces the UAE’s growing role as a major investor in Africa; its total investments exceeded $118 billion between 2020 and 2024. The UAE, which was invited as a guest to the G20 summit, is now seeking to deploy its significant AI capabilities and expertise to ensure no country in the Global South is left behind in the AI age.
