The United Arab Emirates has emphasized that any future accord between the United States and Iran must ensure free and safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most vital oil routes. But regional stability cannot be achieved without safeguarding shipping lanes that global energy markets rely upon, officials emphasized.

The UAE also stressed that any cessation of hostilities or agreement should include more than a pause in fighting. It has to deal with wider issues, such as Iran’s missile program, drone capabilities, and nuclear activities.
Recent tensions and attacks have only heightened concerns across the Gulf, driving countries closer to cooperating with Washington on security issues, according to officials.

Meanwhile, the UAE had offered to support, and potentially even participate in, U.S.-only efforts aimed at protecting maritime traffic in the Strait as ongoing risks continued. Regional leaders insist that maintaining open trade routes is critical not just for the region but for the global economy.
The message is unequivocal: enduring peace and stability will need solid assurances, deeper partnership, and concrete measures to diminish threats in one of the world’s most sensitive waterways.
