Liverpool forward Hugo Ekitike will reunite with his former club Eintracht Frankfurt on Wednesday as the Reds seek to revive their struggling form in the Champions League. The French striker, who joined Liverpool in July for a reported £69 million, faces a Frankfurt side undergoing major transition after another summer of high-profile departures.
Our pre-match press conference for the clash with Eintracht Frankfurt has been cancelled.
A delay in the squad’s scheduled flight out to Frankfurt, due to technical issues with the aircraft, means the briefing will now not be able to take place.

Ekitike was a standout performer for Frankfurt last season, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists across all competitions. Since his exit, the German side has struggled for consistency, managing just one win in their past five matches and conceding 18 goals in that stretch.
While Liverpool are also battling a four-game losing streak, Ekitike has been a rare bright spot, netting five goals in 11 appearances. Frankfurt officials, meanwhile, hope Wednesday’s clash can reignite their campaign, with sporting director Timmo Hardung calling it “a completely different game, Liverpool, Champions League, there’s nothing better.”
