Meghan Markle has reportedly been warned that her royal title could be stripped once Prince William ascends the throne. According to royal expert Tom Sykes, writing for The Daily Beast and citing palace insiders, both Meghan and Prince Harry may also lose their “His/Her Royal Highness” (HRH) status through an executive order known as “letters patent.”
The report claims Meghan has continued to use her HRH title despite Queen Elizabeth II’s directive forbidding it. Insiders say the move would mark the final step in distancing the Sussexes from royal duties.
The warning comes shortly after Prince Andrew announced he would relinquish his Duke of York title following discussions with King Charles and senior royals. His statement emphasized loyalty to the Crown and a desire to avoid further distractions to the monarchy, a tone some speculate could foreshadow how future royal title decisions are handled.
