Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi held a high-level strategic meeting with the Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, at the Ministry of Interior today. The discussion centered on enhancing the security apparatus for Chinese citizens, counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan, and deepening bilateral intelligence cooperation.

“Maximum Security” as National Priority
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi categorically stated that the safety of Chinese nationals and China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects remains the paramount priority of the Government of Pakistan. He briefed the Ambassador on the comprehensive measures being implemented to create a foolproof security environment.
“The safety of Chinese citizens and projects is of paramount importance. No enemy can undermine the Pakistan-China friendship. Providing maximum security to Chinese nationals is our top priority,” Minister Naqvi reaffirmed.
Key Security Initiatives & Technological Integration
In a significant move to bolster protection, the Minister announced the establishment of a Special Protection Unit (SPU) dedicated exclusively to the security of Chinese nationals. Key highlights of the security briefing included:
- Technological Advancement: The integration of modern Chinese technology and equipment to support coordinated counter-terrorism efforts.
- Intelligence Sharing: An agreement to enhance real-time intelligence sharing and cooperation in combating cybercrime.
- Balochistan Briefing: A detailed account of the “prompt and effective” operations conducted by security forces against organized terror elements in Balochistan following recent attacks.
China Stands in Solidarity
Ambassador Jiang Zaidong expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of civilians and security personnel martyred in recent terror incidents. He reiterated that China stands in complete solidarity with Pakistan in its fight against terrorism and expressed satisfaction with the enhanced security protocols presented by the Interior Ministry.
Strengthening the Strategic Partnership
The meeting also touched upon Minister Naqvi’s recent successful visit to China, with both officials reaffirming their resolve to further strengthen the Pakistan-China All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
Minister Naqvi thanked the Ambassador for China’s unwavering support, while Ambassador Jiang Zaidong acknowledged Pakistan’s dedicated efforts in safeguarding Chinese interests and personnel.
