The Federal Government announced a reduction in the price of High-speed Diesel (HSD). The Government has decided to slash 30-32 Rupees from the per-liter price of HSD after consulting domestic petroleum refineries.

In a press conference, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed that HSD prices were being adjusted following intervention by the Prime Minister. The PM’s office directed officials to provide the public with the due relief amid global oil price volatility due to the prolonged Middle East conflict.
Petroleum Minister stated that the local refineries agreed to lower the prices after a series of discussions. The Government, by reducing the oil prices, aims to;
- Ease transport fares.
- Reduce input costs for the agricultural sector.
- Provide relief to the farmers for tractor and tubewell operations.
The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will notify the revised pricing structure after technical calculations.
