Pakistan and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen collaboration in the minerals and mining sector, focusing on the development of secure, transparent, and sustainable supply chains.

The discussions took place during a meeting between the Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue and a U.S. delegation led by Mr. Robert Louis Strayer II, President of the Critical Minerals Forum (USA), accompanied by Ms. Natalie Baker, Chargé d’Affaires of the United States.
Both sides explored avenues for cooperation in critical minerals, investment facilitation, and supply-chain security. The Finance Minister welcomed the delegation, highlighting Pakistan’s improving economic indicators, fiscal discipline, and ongoing structural reforms—including power sector restructuring, tax policy reforms, and privatization of 24 state-owned enterprises.
He underscored Pakistan’s strategic geopolitical position, noting the country’s renewed momentum in Pakistan-U.S. ties, strong relations with China, and growing cooperation with Saudi Arabia. The Minister described Pakistan’s mineral wealth as a “transformational opportunity” for export-led growth and sustainable development.
Mr. Strayer outlined the Forum’s efforts to build transparent and resilient mineral supply chains, focusing on rare metals such as copper and antimony. The U.S. delegation praised Pakistan’s scientific and engineering talent, calling it vital for future collaboration.
Both sides agreed to maintain close engagement, aligning their cooperation with Pakistan’s economic reform agenda and shared vision for responsible investment and sustainable growth.
