During his visit, FM Dar will meet with his British counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister Angela Rayner, and Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Pakistan Hamish Falconer. He will also attend a breakfast meeting with Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, reflecting the broad diplomatic scope of his agenda.
Dar’s visit aligns with the ongoing Enhanced Strategic Dialogue between Pakistan and the UK, which was initiated in 2011 and has since expanded to address cooperation in trade, economic growth, cultural exchange, security, and education.
A highlight of the trip will be the inauguration of a Punjab Land Record Authority initiative, piloted at the Pakistan High Commission in London. The project is designed to assist members of the Pakistani diaspora in remotely resolving land documentation matters back home, improving access and convenience.
FM Dar will also engage with British parliamentarians, Kashmiri community leaders, and members of the British-Pakistani diaspora, aiming to strengthen people-to-people ties and enhance mutual understanding.
This trip follows significant diplomatic momentum earlier this month, when Pakistan and the UK agreed to bolster their partnership in key sectors, particularly in defense cooperation and strategic dialogue. Recent developments include the UK’s introduction of e-visas for Pakistani students and workers, adoption of the Trade Dialogue Mechanism Agreement, and the launch of the UK-Pakistan Business Advisory Council, institutionalizing economic collaboration.
This visit underscores Pakistan’s commitment to deepening strategic ties with the UK across multiple domains—economic, security, and cultural—while supporting its global diaspora.
