The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) finalized a comprehensive strategy to ensure uninterrupted power supply across its regions during the holy month of Ramadan. LESCO CEO, Engineer Muhammad Ramzan Butt, announced that providing maximum relief to consumers during Sehri and Iftar hours is the company’s absolute priority. To support this, a high-level monitoring mechanism has been activated to prevent any unannounced load-shedding during these sacred timings.

A central Control Room and a Board Room at the LESCO headquarters will operate 24/7 to handle emergencies. The CEO confirmed that the company’s Power Distribution Centre (PDC) is in constant coordination with the Ministry of Power and Energy to maintain system stability. Additionally, special committees have been formed to conduct real-time monitoring of grid stations and transmission lines. To ensure accountability, the Chief Engineer (T&G) and the Director Operations have been appointed as the official focal persons for these Ramadan arrangements.

Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari has also issued a nationwide directive to all DISCOs to avoid load-shedding even in “high-loss” areas during these hours. Citizens are encouraged to use the 118 helpline or the LESCO SMS service to report any localized faults immediately.
