North Korea has conducted a three-day testing spree of new weapons systems, including ballistic missiles fitted with cluster-bomb warheads, as it continues to expand its nuclear-capable arsenal targeting South Korea.
North Korea says it test-fired two strategic cruise missiles and three anti-warship missiles from the naval destroyer Choe Hyon with Pyongyang’s leader Kim Jong-un observing the launch https://t.co/GczSH0rJo6

According to North Korean state media on Thursday, the tests — which began on Monday — also involved anti-aircraft weapons, purported electromagnetic pulse systems, and carbon-fiber bombs.
The announcement came a day after South Korea’s military detected multiple missile launches from North Korea’s eastern coast. The Joint Chiefs of Staff said the missiles fired on Wednesday flew between 240 and 700 kilometres before landing in the sea. At least one projectile was also launched on Tuesday from an area near Pyongyang.
Japan confirmed that none of the missiles entered its exclusive economic zone, while the US military stated that the launches posed no immediate threat to the United States or its allies.
This latest round of tests underscores North Korea’s ongoing push to modernise and diversify its missile forces amid persistent tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
