Pakistan’s Peace Push Wins Global Praise

Pakistan is being applauded for playing a strong and positive role in international relations, helping bring the United States and Iran to the negotiating table amid a tense and dangerous conflict. Recently, in an opinion piece, Masood Khan ( former Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations ), wrote that Pakistan has made unprecedented strides and established a new standard in peacemaking.

In his opinion, Pakistan has managed to establish the proper framework to allow a ceasefire and has assisted in opening the door to face-to-face negotiations between Washington and Tehran. It is a big success, given the strong distrust between the two nations and the threat of further deterioration of the situation in the region.

He also commended the leadership of Shehbaz Sharif and the good coordination between the civilian and military institutions. Specifically, he noted the contribution of Asim Munir due to his contribution to sustaining diplomacy and stability at a critical period.

The talks hosted in Islamabad are being closely watched around the world. The process of mediation by Pakistan has not only been able to ease the tension in the short term but also enhanced its reputation as a responsible and capable global actor.

Masood Khan thinks that this success will give Pakistan a new opportunity, such as closer international relations and economic prospects. He emphasized that peace efforts like these can boost trust in Pakistan’s leadership and create long-term benefits for the country. Pakistan’s diplomacy can be remembered as one of the most important moves in the situation that assisted in redirecting a huge conflict towards dialogue rather than destruction.
