Pakistan Condemns Israel’s West Bank Land Seizures at OIC Ministerial Session

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar issued a scathing condemnation of Israel’s “expansionist mindset” today, following the Israeli government’s decision to register vast areas of the occupied West Bank as “state property.”

Addressing the Open-Ended Extraordinary Ministerial Session of the OIC Executive Committee, Dar warned that the move—the first of its kind since the 1967 occupation—represents a blatant attempt at de facto annexation and a final blow to the prospects of a two-state solution.

Broken Assurances and “Brazen Impunity”

Dar revealed that during the September 2025 UN General Assembly, the “Group of Eight” Islamic nations (Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, and Indonesia) received high-level assurances from the United States that the annexation of the West Bank would not take place.

  • Betrayal of Trust: Dar noted that despite these diplomatic guarantees, Israel has acted with “brazen impunity,” enforcing a new legal and administrative reality on Palestinian land.

  • UNSC Resolution 2803: The Minister demanded the full implementation of UNSC Resolution 2803 (passed in November 2025), which endorsed a comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict and established the Board of Peace (BoP) as a transitional administration.

Condemning the “Hexagon of Expansion”

The Foreign Minister took particular aim at recent remarks by U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, who suggested that Israel has a biblical right to take over large swathes of the Middle East.

  • Irresponsible Rhetoric: Dar described such statements as “deeply concerning” and “inflammatory,” noting they undermine the “Board of Peace” initiatives and threaten the territorial integrity of brotherly Arab nations.

  • Double Standards: Dar drew a parallel between the struggle for self-determination in Palestine and Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), urging the OIC to act with “unity, resolve, and purpose” to end systemic human rights violations in both regions.

Pakistan’s Five-Point Call to Action

To counter the current crisis, Minister Dar outlined a clear path forward for the OIC:

  • Immediate Reversal: The collective reversal of all measures aimed at the annexation of the West Bank.

  • Holy Site Protection: Ensuring the sanctity of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and protecting it from demographic manipulation.

  • Ceasefire and Recovery: Transitioning from the current fragile ceasefire to a permanent cessation of hostilities and the immediate launch of a donor-funded reconstruction program for Gaza.

  • Accountability: Pursuing legal avenues for war crimes and violations of international humanitarian law.

  • Political Pathway: Establishing a credible, time-bound roadmap toward a sovereign and independent Palestinian state.
